We would like to personally thank you for visiting our website. My name is Deena Gainor and I am the owner and founder of Global Getaways International Travel Consultants. My husband's name is Ryan. We have been married for ten years and are parents to four amazing children, two girls and two boys, ages 7, 5, 3, & 2.

I was born on a small island off the coast of Kenya, East Africa, while Ryan was born and brought up mostly in Central Pennsylvania. While college and graduate school brought me to Central PA, Ryan was attending college at Harvard University. Our paths finally crossed on New Year's Eve at a Christian Retreat Center. That was the start of the best friendship I ever had. We got married exactly two years later on New Year's Eve, so Ryan never forgets our anniversary!

We spent the first few weeks of our marriage honeymooning in Tahiti and then relocated to the West Coast for six wonderful years. We lived in both San Diego and the suburbs of Los Angeles. After having our children, however, family strongly encouraged us to move back "home." We spent the next three years in Central Pennsylvania and are currently enjoying living in Chicago.

Travel is one of our great passions. As such, Global Getaways is dedicated to making travel fun and rewarding for all of our clients. Our specialty is finding destinations that take your breath away.
We have sought out the unique, the extraordinary, and the dream destinations both at home and abroad. Our favorite destinations are exclusive and amazing…some of the most beautiful places in the world. Our love of travel has taken us to many beautiful and exotic locations including the following: French Polynesia, Hawaii, Caribbean, Mexico, India, Africa, and Europe as well as most of the United States. We have gotten to experience the thrill of feeding sharks and swimming with dolphins in the crystal clear waters of Tahiti, staying in an over water bungalow in Bora Bora, celebrating special family occasions in a luxury villa in Jamaica, cruising the Bahamas and the Caribbean on a floating resort, taking a Disney Cruise, making lifelong friends with families on the Island of Capri, Italy, backpacking through Europe, and a host of other amazing adventures. We are happy to share these experiences with our friends, families, and clients.

In addition to our experiences, Deena Gainor, owner of Global Getaways, has achieved the status of:

Accredited Cruise Counsellor (ACC) through the CLIA (Cruise Line International Association) Certification Program. TheACC certification is designed to develop extensive cruise industry knowledge. It is achieved only after a two-year rigorous curriculum including professional industry and business classes, numerous ship inspections, and required personal cruise sailing experiences. By working with a Certified Cruise Counsellor, our clients can feel confident that the cruise vacations our expert recommends are based on personal experience. Michelle has built a career in the special event industry over the past 10 years, and is a certified event planner. Michelle Elliott, who is the co-owner & founder of Elegant Events, together with her team of professionals create events that are elegant and build memories that will last a lifetime. From the quiet luscious garden wedding to the gala spectacular events, Elegant Events is in the dream making industry.

Michelle has had the opportunity to travel to places such as Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Hawaii, and Mexico, as well as most of the United States.
